We are delighted to announce that Christy Moore will be performing at Killashee Hotel on Friday 14th February 2020. This gig is guaranteed to be an unforgettable show as the “Ordinary Man” returns to his native Kildare to perform his loved classics.
Christy Moore is our local legend. Christy was born in May 7th 1945 and grew up in Newbridge. He is our very own Irish Folk Singer, Song Writer & Musician. His style of music includes driving rhythms on both bodhrán & guitar as well as slower ballads. This superstar in the eyes of all Kildare people is a living legend. He was named Ireland’s greatest living musician in RTE’s People of the Year Awards in 2007.
Mr. Moore is one of the founding members of Moving Hearts and Planxty. His first album was Paddy on the Road and was recorded in 1969. Christy started his solo career in 1975. After a number of tough years dealing with personal issues & health problems, on the 17th of April 2009, Christy released his first studio album in over four years, entitled “Listen”. The promotion was done through a series of live gigs. Music runs through the family with his sibling being the famous Luka Bloom.

Doors open at 7pm with the gig starting at 8pm.
