9 months to go
Many brides come to us a month before their wedding in the hope of transforming their skin. Considering the skin renews itself every 28 days realistically there is little that can be done if your skin condition is particularly bad.
Water is one of the cheapest and most beneficial treatments for your skin. Now is the time to increase your intake to help flush toxins and impurities.
This is also the ideal time to begin a good home care routine. It is essential to cleanse and moisturise morning and night and exfoliate once or twice weekly. Having an established home care routine will ensure your skin is prepped for any professional treatments you may have. For in-salon treatments such as Biotec, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) skin rejuvenation, Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion it is vital to plan well in advance. This will ensure you get the maximum benefit from your treatment.
Biotec is a system developed by Elemis which offers 7 different facial treatments using the science of 5 in 1 advanced bio-electric technology which work in perfect synergy with the skin's natural bio-electric field, it literally turns the skin back on. It is ideal for tired and dull skin in need of a wakeup call. IPL skin rejuvenation is ideal for skin that lacks energy, is dull, tired, and red or pigmentated. It is great for improving the overall complexion. Microdermabrasion can be combined with IPL for optimum results. Chemical Peels dissolve the dead superficial layer of skin cells and stimulate collagen production. For the maximum benefit of these treatments 4 – 6 sessions are recommended, each with varying down time after each treatment. It is advisable to speak with a skin care specialist who can work out an appropriate plan suitable for your own individual needs and time frame.

If you haven’t started your skin care routine yet, tap yourself on the wrist and start NOW! You will be amazed how effective the introduction of even a simple skincare routine can be.
Book a make up artist for your big day and arrange a trial.
Another mistake brides make is booking an appointment for waxing for the first time a few days before the wedding without consulting a therapist. In many cases patch tests are required and often the results of a wax for the first time can be disappointing due to different stages of hair growth. If you decide you want to wax for your honeymoon and have never waxed before now is the time to start. Starting a regular waxing routine now will ensure longer lasting results for your honeymoon.

If you are planning to have a spray tan or another form of false tanning you should have a trial now. This will allow you and your therapist to decide on the perfect shade for your skin type. Your therapist will advise you on how best to prep your skin for your tan. Regular exfoliation treatments are ideal to get your skin glowing.
Start having regular manicure and pedicure treatments to ensure your hands and feet are in tip top condition. Remember everyone will be looking at your hands on the day so start using a hand cream now.
