Festival Season has arrived!
We are excited to share with you some of the best summer festivals and events happening within a 40-minute drive from the hotel. Whether you are a local or a tourist visiting, there's something for everyone to enjoy this summer.
1. Kaleidoscope Festival - The Kaleidoscope Festival is a family-friendly event that takes place in the stunning Russborough House and Parklands. It’s a three-day festival that is packed with music, art, family activities, and great food. The festival offers something for everyone from toddlers to grandparents. Gather your festival crew, give the kids the best music memories and let Kaleidoscope be your 2024 summer highlight! The festival takes place from 28th June to 30th June 2024.
2. Irish Derby Festival - This festival is a celebration of horse racing and takes place at the Curragh Racecourse, just a 15-minute drive from our hotel. It's a week-long event that includes horse racing, live music, and food stalls. This year's festival will take place from June 28th - 30th, and will feature the Irish Derby on June 30th.
3. Picnic at the Manor-A boutique summer festival series est. 2021, hosting Ireland's finest tribute acts and party bands, with a variety of delicious street food and refreshing summer drinks. Expect all round good vibes within the stunning setting of the walled garden, Palmerstown Estate, only 10 minutes from Killashee. With an all-weather protection covering over the arena, it's summer festival without the risk of rain and mud! 'Picnic At The Manor' is the perfect summer day out.

4. Leixlip Festival - This festival takes place in the charming town of Leixlip, just a 20-minute drive from Killashee Hotel. At Leixlip Festival Rock the Yard, attendees can enjoy a range of live rock performances from both local and international bands. There are also engaging activities such as interactive workshops for music enthusiasts, showcasing various instruments and techniques. The festival provides a vibrant atmosphere where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of rock music.
5. Mondello Park have a summer of racing events but the one we are most excited about is the Historic Fest which takes place on the 10th & 11th of August. Step back in time with our Carole Nash Historic Festival, which is back for 2024. Irelands’ legendary and only historic motor race meeting celebrating Vintage, Classic, Racing Cars and Motorcycles from the glamour of the roaring ‘20s through to the swinging ‘60s. An unmissable event in Mondello Park for motor racing enthusiasts, car lovers and Formula 1 fans. This event has something for everyone with great food, fantastic music and children’s entertainment. 6. D8 in the Garden-District 8 back to the festival arena this summer for the return of their event series "D8 IN THE GARDEN"A brand new concept inspired by acclaimed international events such as Brunch In The Park & Piknic Électronik. An exciting summer gathering, surrounded by nature in the magical Walled Garden at Palmerstown House, Co. Kildare, only 10 minutes from Killashee.Experience a custom-built space, filled with dancers, music lovers & friends, all ready to enjoy something special in a perfect setting!
D8 In The Garden 2024 kicking off on Saturday 3rd of August, for a special looking for trouble show with Mall Grab X Armand Van Helden, Promising to be one of their biggest shows ever.
On Sunday August 4th for their 10th Birthday Celebrations, a legendary name as promised, the iconic Carl Cox will lay down a very special DJ set alongside some special guests.
7. Taste of Kildare- This food and drink festival takes place at teh Naas Racecourse just a 5-minute drive from Killashee. Showcasing the very best local and visiting chefs, the cuisine from local producers highlights the diversity and vibrancy of food culture in Co Kildare. It's a must-attend event for foodies, offering a chance to sample some of the best food and drink Ireland has to offer. This festival will take place from September 20th-22nd.
8. The Moat Theatre Events: The Moat Theatre’s state-of-the-art performance space hosts a varied and lively programme, featuring the Moat Club’s own drama productions, visiting theatre groups, comedy, singer-songwriters, dance and art exhibitions.Located just 5 minutes from Killashee.

9. Forest Fest:July 19th-21st at Emo Village, Laois. Get ready for the best weekend of the Summer with the headlining acts- The Human League, The Cult, Ocean Colour Scene, The Divine Comedy, Dexys, Tony Hadley, EMF, King Kong Company. This music and arts festival is one not to be missed.
10. Electric Picnic: 16th-18th August, Stradbally Hall, Laois, 40 minutes from Killashee. Ireland’s largest gathering of music & arts, and the ultimate rock n’ roll circus, Electric Picnic has established itself as one of the world’s most unique festivals. With a great selection of music, art, theatre, comedy, food and holistic health, it’s the most delightfully diverse end of summer party on the Emerald Isle.
